Life during the 27th week has been challenging. Between School picking up quite a bit and Baby Nuunie becoming more and more active, I’ve had to take it easy this week so far.
At this point, carrying Baby Nuunie has meant that I’ve gained an additional 22 lbs (same as E at this point) which seems to be mainly residing in my stomach. I definitely feel like I’m carrying a medicine ball under my shirt, except this medicine ball kicks and punches. Oh wait, I think I’ve just invented a new piece of gym equipment..don’t take my idea. 😉 I also have noticed that Baby Nuunie has a tendency to sit on the right side of my stomach which means I constantly feel off balance and I can feel my back trying to adjust for the shift to equilibrium.
As a result of all the weirdness going on, I had to change my workout yesterday drastically to virtually eliminate most things that would require my back to be actively engaged or would require my right leg, which was constantly falling asleep, no thanks to baby nuunie to be more of an inactive player in the workout. So…
Treadmill?…Nope
Stair Mill?…Nope
Elliptical?….Not really
Bike?….BINGO!
Followed up with some good stretching and yoga poses and that’s about all I could do.
I know not to get discouraged. Some weeks will be better than others and now that the 3rd Trimester is here, I know there might be more bad weeks than good weeks but this is a lifestyle and working out is my outlet. Having a fitpregnancy is extremely important to me so I’ll continue to workout through this last trimester.
Next week is also the glucose test…if history repeats itself, I’ll probably fail. Oh joy!
Ok, it’s late and I’m beat. Good night!
I just love how active your are! That may sound old school, but only because I am. Years ago (and I mean many years, my sons are 31 & 36!), moms weren’t expected to do too much while pregnant. So I didn’t. Which of course, as we know now, makes recovery so much longer and harder.
You’re so right. It took my mom a while during my first pregnancy to be “ok” with me working out. She was in the same boat you’re talking about.
You look so cute pregnant! When I become pregnant, I hope to be as active as you are.
Thanks! I’m sure you will. 🙂
You look awesome and you are doing great with your workouts and staying active. Yes, some days are going to be better than others but do what you can and don’t stress too much. You’re almost there!
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I feel like I have to far to go still to be frustrated but everyone’s different I guess.
You’re adorable! I wish I would have been as active as you are when I was pregnant. Then I’d have had a lot less work to do after! 😉
Thanks. 🙂 I’m afraid I’ll still have a lot of work to do afterwards but I’ll at least feel like I gave it my best shot.
You look adorable and you’re rocking the fit pregnancy! Way to go.
Thanks! 😉
You look soooooo adorable!!!
Thanks!!
You look amazing! I carried all my weight out in front too. Great workout too. Cat/cow was my fav when pregnant.
Thanks. It’s weird. With E, I carried it all over..by the end of my pregnancy I looked like a tank. You definitely carry girls differently than boys. Or at least I do. 🙂
You are inspiring me! I know I must adapt regardless of how much I resist. I feel like I have really popped at 21 weeks. Yikes!
You look amazing! I want my next pregnancy to be more active like yours! I guess that means I should be more active now 🙂 thanks for the inspiration!
Ahh, love the little basketball belly!! I was all about the bike for the last stretch of my pregnancy, too. Cheers for staying active, and I love the cute little prenatal workout you put together! Great idea!
