I’ve seen a lot of great posts about 2012 and 2013.
Lindsay Cotter talked about what word describes her New Year.
Christine talked about 2012 and her goals. She talked about how 2012 was all about acceptance.
I’ve read post after post and they are all so inspiring and motivational. Everyone is geared up and ready to get 2013 started.
So naturally I started thinking about 2012 and 2013 and to be honest, 2012 was a tough year. There were definitely highlights (i.e. Hood to Coast, Pregnancy Announcement, Hawaii, Florida) but with them came just as many challenges (i.e. My Dad’s passing, E’s surgery).
If I think about 2012, one word comes to mind…Persevere. It was a year filled with adversity and challenges and through it all I had family and friends to thank for the support that helped make it through.
When I look at 2013, it’s going to be a good year filled with challenge, hopefully reward and a bigger family.
My 2013 goals include:
1. Have a baby
2. Finish Grad School
3. Be the best Co-Chair for Celebrate Fitness I can be
4. Run at least 5 races (one already registered for)
5. Lose all the baby weight
6. Spend more time studying Nutrition
7. Work Harder
I know, they aren’t exactly exciting and groundbreaking but 2013, for me, is going to be about finishing things I’ve started.
So I’m going to say my phrase for 2013 is “Bear Down”. I’m going to be giving myself constant pep talks and I’ll be using you all as motivation and inspiration and I hope that I can provide a little motivation for you too.
Here’s to a good 2013. What’s on your 2013 bucketlist?
I blogged about my goals today. I think my biggest goal is to run 1000 miles. I think I can do it! Good luck meeting all of your goals!
That’s an awesome goal and I know you can do it! I’ll be following you every mile.
You know, one reason I love reading these posts is seeing how everyone approaches the end of the year and beginning of the new year in a different way. Everyone takes their own approach to figure out how to reflect and set goals/move forward in the new year. I love your goals and have no doubt that you will have an amazing year, especially with the new addition to the family. Happy New Year my friend!
Thank you Christine! Your support means a lot to me.
I have been thinking about my 2013 goals a lot –and am still working on making them concrete. I know that I want to run a pr at the nike womens half, and I would like to run a marathon in the fall, and come in under 5 hours.
I’m so jealous you’re doing the Nike Women’s Half. Good for you! I can’t wait to see if you do another marathon. Yeah!
Finishing what you started is always a good thing. I’ve got a few goals that I’m carrying over from 2012 too. I think “bear down” is a great goal especially when it comes time for baby girl’s delivery. 😉 Best of luck to you in 2013!!
🙂 I hadn’t even thought about it but you’re right. I’ll be doing alot of “Bearing down” in April…like it or not.
honestly I LOVE YOUR GOAL NUMBER ONE 🙂
mine is to focus forward….and not keep looking back
Thanks Miz! I’m pretty hopeful that I can accomplish that goal. 🙂 the rest are all second in comparison.
I love it! I choose purpose for this year and I’m really excited to see where it takes me
Purpose is a great word. I think of being focused and mindful.
Bear Down is my college’s motto 🙂 LOVE it. Haha.
Oh really?! that’s funny.
Right now…it’s to live in the moment 🙂
Perfect!
I think those are great goals and some pretty big life changing ones at that. My main goal is to run a sub 1:40 half marathon
1:40 half sounds amazing! I hope to one day get a sub 2:00 hour. Maybe end of this year. We’ll see.
Finishing what you start is a great goal for the new year!! At least you know that at least ONE of those things you will accomplish 🙂
I love to set goals, but I find setting goals when pregnant somewhat difficult, so I’m going with the generic – I’m hoping to have a healthy pregnancy. Maybe I’ll set some new goals in May once this kid is here and I can finish 2013 out with a bang!
Totally agree with the setting goals while pregnant thats why these are a little vague. I feel like I’m in a wait and see pattern.
Those are perfect goals- they should be attainable, and yours are just right. Enough to work towards without being too overwhelming. Wishing you the best in 2013!
My biggest goal is to not get injured LOL, which means training smart and listening to my body.
Oh man, i was gonna do the same #1 on your list, but you beat me to it.
That is the most important goal of all. Cheers to the wonderful (pink) addition.
Hehe – I’m glad you took the one word and expanded on it like me! Great list of goals, it’s gonna be a great year!
