Saucony Kinvara 4s

April 30, 2013 9 Comments

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I think we all know how motivating it can be to have something new to try out.  These Saucony’s came just before I had Allie and I have been staring at them for weeks.  I’ve worn them to the grocery store, and the few times I’ve been out and about just because I had too.  And every time I’ve worn them I’ve gotten compliments and questions about them.  Everyone loves the way the look, and so do I!

But what someone just looking at them doesn’t get to experience is the fit and the support they provide. Compared to the Saucony Virratas, the Kinvara is more of a neutral shoe.  It provides more cushioning and support than it’s sister.  This is particularly appealing to those of us that aren’t looking to become a minimalist runner anytime soon.

The Kinvara would be a great shoe for someone that just needs a little support without wanting to wear a heavy bulky shoe.  Weighing in at 6.7 oz for the women’s shoe and 7.7 for the men’s version, you will barely feel this shoe.

Saucony Kinvara
While I really liked the Virratas, the Kinvara 4’s meet my needs much better.  I definitely think I’ll wear the Virrata’s for shorter runs to help me strengthen my feet but for the longer run, I need a little more support so the Kinvara’s will definitely be my shoe of choice.
The bottom line is Saucony has you covered regardless of your running needs.  I could get lost daydreaming on their site for hours!
If you’re in the market for a minimalist shoe, check out the Virrata’s.
If you’re in the market for a neutral shoe, check out the Kinvra 4s.
You won’t be disappointed.  And while you’re over at Saucony browsing the shoes, check out the #BostonStrong Shoe Medallion.  It’s a great way to support the Boston One Fund.  You can Pre-order now for only $5.

What do you look for in a shoe?

I’m using my Kinvaras for shorter outdoor runs (up to 6 miles) and the Virattas on the treadmill. Wondering if I should get the Mirage for longer runs ….

Thanks for the honest review and for comparing the Virratas to the Kinvaras. My husband got the Virratas and really likes them. I was going to give them a try, but I appreciate your explanation of the two.
Both pairs have a great look, for sure!

I’ve seen a few reviews of these and they look (and sound) great. Hum… maybe I’ll have to give them a shot!

I’m usually an Asics gal but I might need to give these a try. I have very high arches & need some cushion but don’t want a clunker. Seems like the neon colors are all the rage. The new Nimbus look like a rainbow threw up.
