Mizuno Wave Sayonara Shoe Review and Treadmill Workout

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Mizuno

It’s no secret that I love shoes. I mean, I am a girl and while I love a good pair of Stilettos, what I love more is a good pair of running shoes.

Just like stilettos, running shoes come in all shapes and sizes and depending on your “style”, running style that is, there’s a shoe for you.

When you get ready to shop for your next pair of running shoes, make sure you spend sometime with the newest shoe to the Mizuno lineup.  The Wave Sayonara.  When FitFluential and Mizuno gave me a chance to try out the Sayonara I jumped at the chance.

Weighing in at 7.1 oz, these shoes are the perfect everyday training shoe.  More support than a minimalist shoe but not bulky and heavy.  The other thing I really liked about these shoes is that there is plenty of room in the toebox (the front of the shoe).

When these ladies arrived I couldn’t wait to spend sometime with them.  I took them out immediately.

And they delivered.  I didn’t just go run a mile.  I biked first and followed it up with a quick mile.  My first “mini-brick”and might I say it was a “Brilliant Brick”.

After a rest day, I laced up and took the shoes out again.  This time for a more serious test..a long run.

As part of my training for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon next month, I have been working on building my endurance and getting some of my speed back.  So I set out to do a workout that would have me running for 60 minutes and hopefully 6-7 miles and it did just that.

The shoes, again powered me to a brilliant run.  It felt like we were meant to be together.  All in all a really well designed shoe and at $119, they are investment in your training. These shoes will take you far.

My only criticism is that lots of shoe manufacturers are using more stickers to design their shoe rather than sewing on additional fabric and this is fine but I have noticed that in other shoes, this sticker tends to fall off.  Now that hasn’t happened to these shoes but just pay attention to it.

I give these shoes…4 out of 5 sneakers (that’s my new rating scale).

If you’re looking to have a brilliant run, might I suggest this 60 minute treadmill workout?!  It pushed me to the brink and I loved every minute of it.   Just in case you were wondering, this workout is an image so just save it to your phone’s camera roll and bring it up while your on the treadmill.  Then you don’t have to print anything.

Also, if 60 minutes is not what you’re looking for, I also put together a 30 minute one a while back which is equally fun.  Check it out!

What’s that you say?  You’re looking for some new music?  Well then you’re in luck..I also put together a playlist to go with this workout.  The playlist is even designed to keep up the tempo when you need it and slow you down too.  This playlist really did help me through a tough workout.  Hopefully it will do the same for you.

I’m loving the new Sayonara too! SO lightweight and comfy. I’m slowing inching my miles up so these shoes are helping me get there. BTW – great workout!

    Love the shoes, fabulous color!

I ran this weekend, I think the most “brilliant” one was my nice slow miles yesterday with my friend Deb, good conversation and easy paced miles were just what my body needed!

I am so in love with my Sayonaras. I want them in the white and blue too now. I was so sad when I heard the Precisions were being retired, but now I can say the replacement is way better!

This may sound like a dumb question – but will these shoes be good for running a half marathon? I’ve run 2 this year in my wave riders but not sure if this shoe may be too ‘minimalist’ to train and run a few fall races I am going to be doing?
