Friday Random Ramblings: Headbands, Planning and Training

I don’t know about you but by Friday my mind kind of resembles ice cream that has been left out a little too long and if that didn’t paint the right picture well then….mush.  It’s basically mush which means that expectations for this post should be pretty low but I’ll give it a shot anyway.

Product Love: Can I just give a little shout out to a new brand of headbands that I’ve found and love?  MaxFlow Sportssent me two headbands and I absolutely love them.  They don’t slip and they come in all kinds of great colors. You probably saw this picture on instagram a while back.  That’s the pink one I got and love!

Gaining Momentum: I don’t know about you but I can go through MAJOR swings of motivation.  One day I’ll be completely unmotivated..unmotivated to workout, to do any amount of work, to blog, anything. The next day, it will be like someone lit a fire under my A$* and I’m rolling.  Workouts are done, plans are put into motion, heck I might even clean my house.  I have no idea what triggers these swings but all I can say is that I’m in one of those SUPER HIGHLY MOTIVATED AND READY TO MOVE MOUNTAINS kind of swings right now.  Maybe it was writing this post the other day that got me all amp’ed up.

I’m tired of waiting for things to happen to me.  I’m going to be taking  a risk and putting myself out there in a way I NEVER thought possible and if I fail, fine but I can at least say I tried.  You might be asking yourself…”What is she talking about?”  Well, I can’t tell you just yet but I will soon and when I do, I’m going to be asking for some help (I’m being honest).    

Hitting the Books: I’m back to studying again.  It’s that time again.  Time to renew my Personal Trainer Certification.  Sometimes I’m not even sure why I bother.  I don’t train anyone but I do like having it.  It does, however, mean a lot of continuing education and I always seem to put it off till the last minute so February will be lots of studying at least it’s topics that I care about.  FUN!

Half Marathon Training: Next week is my first official week back and  I’m going to be using a  Runners World training plan.  I just felt like it might be good to change it up a little so I paid the $25.  Guess we will see how it works out. Have you ever used one of the RW plans?

    ha! my brain feels like that too. and those swings of motivation? I totally go through that as well. Really productive days and other days where I can’t get myself to do a thing. Happy Friday Katie!

    i love the maxflow headbands, as well. i can’t believe how well they stay on for being so thin!

    I’m the same way with the motivation mood swings. Some days I’ve got nothing in the tank. Other days I will have done everything on my list and looking for more by mid-afternoon. Weird. Happy Training!
