Marvelous Monday: Milestones and Miles

January 20, 2014 13 Comments

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I have seen it all over the web lately.  Everyone is getting sick and our family got to join in the fun.  First it was E, Wednesday night, then the hubs and I on Thursday and Friday.  Thank goodness for my in-laws who came and took the kids on Thursday night so S and I could wallow in sickness by ourselves.  Luckily by Saturday morning we were starting to feel better.  So I’m dedicating this Marvelous Monday post to a weekend of family and fitness time free of the flu!!

Marvelous Moment #1:  MiniE started crawling!!!
I can’t believe it and I’m a little sad to think I have two to literally chase around but she’s been trying for a while now and finally we started to see some real movement this weekend.  Knowing MiniE is our last, watching all these milestones come and go is bitter sweet but I guess she has to grow up.

Marvelous Moment #2: Cuddling
Just all around.  MiniE is not necessarily one to love cuddling or at least not like her brother so when I get opportunities like this I take them.

MiniE Napping

I just told you E was a cuddler and that isn’t exclusive to mommy cuddles.  He spreads his love around.  I snapped this moment this weekend while I was in the kitchen.  I mean really?! I was so worried before MiniE came that E wouldn’t accept her but as you can see, I didn’t need to worry.

Marvelous Moment #3 & 4: Running
Friday there was no workout but Saturday and Sunday for sure.  Saturday, I did three somewhat queasy treadmill miles at home in honor of Meg and Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day, in the 50’s, so I took my run outside in the afternoon and then sat in the sun and soaked it up like a lizard on a rock.

I saw a lot of people racing this weekend including Pavement Runner who ran RnRAZ so let me be the first to congratulate you if you raced.

What is making your Monday marvelous?

Oh yes. The sickies have invaded our house as you know. I’m glad to hear that you all are feeling better! Love these moments. It goes by so quickly, doesn’t it?

I probably shouldn’t say this, but I rarely get sick. I’m sure it has something to do with my little ones being all grown up and long gone.

I love the picture of E cuddling his sister. So cute. Such a great bond!

So far the my son was the only sickie last week. You never know what can happen this week. The plague may spread! I love the cuddling pic- remember that when they’re fighting like cats and dogs a few years from now!

I will probably jinx myself but I haven’t been sick in several years. Not even a sniffle. Happy you’re feeling better! Cuddling is def marvelous even now and my kids are 15 and 17. They would kill me if they knew I shared that 🙂

I’m glad you are feeling better! We’ve been sick on and off here. It’s very random. Gotta love the germs kids bring home!

Awww – I love how much E loves his sister. My kids are the same way and I love seeing them interact (umm, most of the time!).
