When Aetna asked me to help introduce their “What’s Your Healthy?” Initiative I couldn’t resist.
I love talking about living a healthy lifestyle. It’s what I do. It gets me excited, it drives me to want to help others figure out how to live their own healthy life. I know healthy doesn’t mean the same thing for all of us. I also know that finding time to live YOUR healthy lifestyle can be challenging.
I thought I would share a few of the tips that help me stay healthy both mentally and physically.
1. Set Goals and understand your challenges – I work better with deadlines and objectives but working full time and taking care of two kids means that challenges are as plentiful as dirty diapers. Living YOUR healthy isn’t always easy but once you can be honest with yourself about what is standing in your way, you develop a plan to overcome them.
2. Hug..A LOT – I admit, this isn’t necessarily workout related but at the end of the day, there’s no better feeling than to hug my children and my husband. I have tried, and will continue to make sure I raise my children to be huggers and cuddlers. I want them asking and expecting hugs long into their adult years.
3. Workout as a family – Whenever I can, I make sure I’m not only working out myself, but that I’m including my kids. I want them to not only see me working out, I want them to feel that rush and feeling that you get when you do something good for your body.
I love that Aetna thinks this is a good idea too. See what Ali Sweeney recommends.

Healthy to me = being happy. For me, being happy = working out, sleeping enough, spending time with friends and family, doing what I love to do, eating healthfully and taking time for myself! 🙂
All about going to bed early around here! My favorite way to stay healthy. Hugs don’t hurt, either!
i make sure i move a little bit each day.. even if itz not an official workout, gotta do something!
