I think one of my favorite things about blogging about fitness is just all the fun products to try out. I have been spending a lot of time with the two things highlighted in today’s post.
1. GNC’s Pure Edge Line
I’m going to be 100% honest. I’m not a daily protein taker. I do take it regularly following very strenuous workouts and runs and lately, with half marathon training in full gear, I’ve needed it quite bit.
GNC (Go Shop) sent me their line of Pure Edge and they weren’t kidding when they said pure. These products contain:
- No Gluten
- No GMO-Added ingredients
- No Preservatives
- No Wheat, Soy, Fish or Egg
- No Sugar Alcohols
- No Banned Substances
- No Artificial Flavors colors or sweeteners
The Daily Energy is something else I really like. I take it about 15 minutes before my run and it does give me consistent energy to go the extra mile or two.
The protein is great. It mixes well with water or milk although I usually mix it with milk and just guzzle it. I’m usually not prepared enough to make an elaborate smoothie or anything so I need protein to taste good and this does.
The amino acids does provide some additional support and aids in just overall health and recovery. I have been taking it pretty consistently for about a month now and have noticed that I do seem to recover quicker and have overall better workouts.
The question I have to ask myself for you is…”Would I buy this again on my own?” The answer is I would. Definitely the protein and daily energy. It really did make a difference.
2. Ultimate Booty Workouts Book by Tamara Grand
I love seeing people achieve their dreams and when it’s something practical, even better. Tamara, who blogs over at FitnitChick.com, has written an extremely useful resource to help tone and shape one of the most difficult muscle groups..the booty!
You know I have a job that has me sitting all day so when my booty can use some shaping. I started the workouts this week and can already tell that she has designed these workouts in a great way that you are gonna love. She even gives you worksheets to track your workouts.
You definitely need to check this book out. It’s Booty-licous. (Sorry, had to) Shop Here!
So those are just a few of the fun fitness finds I’m loving this week.
What are your favorite fitness finds? What are you loving?
I love reading Fitknitchick! She is always so informative and helpful. Thanks for the review on the protein, I’ve been looking for something more ‘clean’ so I will have to give this a go.
So happy that you’re enjoying the workouts! Have you been a little sore? My client guinea pigs were always a bit achy the first week or two of this program 😉
Thanks for the shout out!
I REALLY want to try to the new GNC products!!
ooh i’ve never tried that new edge line protein before!! sounds good!!
I need to check out Tamara’s book! I’ve been hearing such great things!!!
I have a tabata timer on my phone that has been my go to recently! Being stuck at home for snow days and sick days recently I have used it for at home workouts! It is all set and ready to go so when I come home from a run if I’ve got at least 4 minutes I can bust out a quick ab routine with out fussing with timing.
As a mom, would you feel comfortable with the kids eating say, pancakes made with that protein powder? That’s the part I struggle with; I’ve always wanted to make protein pancakes on weekends, but I’ve always hesitated on the powders.
This is really a nice blog and I would like to tell that not only food but, proper exercise helps a lot in keeping the body fit and healthy. I have recently found one such firm called Iron flower fitness who is providing the service of fitness.
