Holiday Weekends seem to just start with an excitement that no other weekend has. It’s amazing what one extra day can do. This weekend was no different.
Despite the car troubles which ultimately led to me not getting to my triathlon, it was a great weekend filled with family time which is the best kind of time. We went home to my hometown in Southern Illinois and celebrated the Italian Heritage Festival with plenty of food, drink and bocce!

All I can say is how was your weekend? |
Are you from Herrin? Just a guess; I’m from Carbondale and went to an Italian Festival in Herrin once and I’m pretty sure this year’s was this weekend.
OH THE CHEEEEEEEKS.

Lots of family time and 1 extra day = wonderful!
Haha, love the mustache cup! That pool floaty for mini E looks great – I might need to get one for Eleanor
Looks like such a fun, old-fashioned holiday weekend. Sorry about the tri, though!
Such a fun weekend!! Love it!
