Marvelous Monday: Full Body Gym Circuit, Family and the Warped Wall

Well, it’s not exactly a marvelous monday.  I’m traveling again which means three days away from my family but what was marvelous was the weekend.

We had absolutely NOTHING planned.  That so rarely happens and we took full advantage of it.  I soaked up as much time with the babies as possible and we got a lot of gym time in.  I have been on this kick to change-up my workouts lately so I’ve been running less and working on strength and muscle-building.  To say it’s been fun is an understatement.  I remember how much I LOVE that feel of shaky legs and burning biceps.  If you love that feeling, you are gonna love this full body gym circuit:

On Saturday, I got to take my workout further and do something I’ve never done before, all in the name of welcoming a new gym to the St. Louis area.  Have you ever seen the show America Ninja Warriors?  Well, this gym, Kor Komplex has it all.  Everything you see on that show is here and you get to play on it.  I learned two very important things during my two-hour introduction class.

  • My upper body is really weak..From my shoulders to my fingers…pathetic.
  • Those obstacles are WAYYY harder than they look.  The peg wall is obscenely hard.

I would be spending my Sunday working on my grip and my upper body strength if I wasn’t so sore.  I absolutely love this feeling though.  Is that weird?  As long as it only lasts a day or so.  Here is a clip I posted on Instagram of my first attempts at one of the obstacles.  Head over to Instagram to see the other obstacle.

Sunday was even more fun.  Any day you can swim in the morning and make a snow man in the afternoon is a good day in my book!

    My upper body is SO weak! Pushups are my enemy…
    I love weekends with nothing planned and endless posibilities…looks like it was fun w the kiddos! 🙂

    Oh my gosh, I LOVE American NInja Worrior. We didn’t miss an episode last season. That gym sounds amazing. The peg wall always looked so hard to me too!

    I saw your post on IG and FB – Crazy!!! I’m definitely a lot less stronger in my upper body. I can barely do the monkey bars!
