Two things I love, fitness and St. Louis, have come together with the help of Alive Magazine in this campaign called #BodyAndMindSTL and believe it or not, there are MANY ways to live a healthy lifestyle in “The Lou”. This campaign brings together so many of the motivating and inspiring fitness minds in the region and I’m happy to be a part of it.
My role in all this is to inspire you and help you figure out where to start. I’ll be giving you tips throughout to help you get started and to stay on track!
My first tip is to make fitness a priority!
Life is moving so fast that if you don’t make time for it, it won’t happen. Social media is a great tool to help you stay on track. You can follow my blog, by subscribing and I’ll deliver friendly reminders through personal experiences, tips and tricks. You can also connect with others that are living a healthy life on Twitter and Instagram to help you stay motivated and accountable.
My next tip, variety will keep you energized! You can workout at home (check out these workouts), you can head out for a walk/run on any of the miles of local trails or check out some of the awesome people below!
Tip: The hardest step is the first. Start small and set goals. Reward yourself for not only the big goals but the little ones in between.

Tip: Think you’re hungry? Drink a large glass of water than wait 10 minutes. Dehydration can show itself as hunger.
Fit Snack – A nutrient dense monthly box packed with delicious, healthy food. Fit Snack’s founder, Rose Muniz, was an international consultant for Google – and their “micro kitchens” always had great healthy options. When her time was up at Google, she struggled to find a monthly food box that was healthy and good for you – so she launched Fit Snack. Starting at $15/month (plus $5 S&H), Fit Snack packs each box with 6-9 items valued at over $30; items that are as good as they are good for you! Subscribe today!
TasteGuru – A gluten-free of the month box. David Fishman, Taste Guru’s founder, launched the company when he was diagnosed with celiac and found it difficult to find new gluten-free items at his local grocery stores. Taste Guru’s team carefully curates a box of 6-9 delicious gluten-free items (January’s box had 10) valued at over $30. Starting at $15/month (plus $5 S&H), Taste Guru has gotten some amazing reviews from critics, including MommySplurge.com that said “Gluten free or not, this Taste Guru box is amazing! Check it out today!
Tip: One of my favorite ways to reward myself for staying fit is to buy some new fitness gear.

Once you’ve picked out some adorable new clothes head over to American Image Spa & Salon and let them give you a new look!
American Image Spa and Salon – Chesterfield – Get a massage (hot stone or deep tissue) then get your hair done. I’m already planning my spa day! You can check out all their services on their site and connect with them on Facebook.
