We made it through! Last week was INSANE, definitely not the norm. We went from skiing to prepping our rental for the new tenants, not to mention work and all the typical activities. I knew it was going to be a slow fitness and blog week. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
So it’s Saturday morning and half of our family is asleep still (MiniE and Daddy) so E and I are up and I’m finally getting to focus on my training plan to get me through May which includes 2 half marathons, a sprint tri, Stroller Run 15 (can’t wait to tell you more about that!) and a possible trip to ANW.
Trying to plan all these competing priorities is tough. They are all important but I had to prioritize the priorities just so I wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed. So at this point, here’s the priority:
1. ANW Training – I spent about an hour at Kor Integrated fitness and realized I’m desperately lacking in forearm strength. I am formulating a plan to work on that but I was surprised to see I’ve made progress on some of the obstacles that seemed so impossible before. It was enough of a confidence booster to keep me from getting down but I’ll feel better when I get the forearms up to speed.
2. Half Marathons – My goal here is just to be able to finish strong. It’s a goal that’s polar opposite from the ANW training. Endurance vs. Short and powerful moves. So I’m not going to look to PR either of these halfs. I need to stay injury free and I don’t want to jeopardize any fast twitch training with endurance running right now.
3. Sprint Tri – This is strictly for fun. I miss the sport of tri, it’s a perfect match for me as I have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time. 🙂 This is the local tri associated with my home town’s festival and I love doing it.
SO..with that said, here’s the plan. Yes, I know it’s a little crazy and all over the place but these goals are just that and maybe just crazy enough to work.
So here’s what I need from you…your workouts, your Tabatas, your HIIT, I’ll be creating some and using some from my workouts page but I’m gonna need more!. Please leave your favorite links in the comments. It’s almost guaranteed that I’ll use them.
What do you think? Am I crazy for trying all this? I’ll admit, this is the way I like to train, it keeps things interesting.
