It’s been a pretty good week. Between Boston on Monday, a week of great workouts, launching National Stroller Running Day and prepping for MiniE’s birthday party it’s just been a good week at home.
I don’t know about you but I was pretty distracted Monday at work. I couldn’t help but watch. I love watching the elites and just trying to understand what’s going through their minds. I love knowing that I’ve watched many of them train for a year to get to this one day. It was definitely disappointing to not see an American win but they all gave it a fantastic showing. Then there was this moment:
I’m pretty sure this is a double negative but there’s no way to NOT love Meb. He may not have won but the way he crossed the finishline will be the example we show our kids of class in sporting events. Seriously. He didn’t sulk, he lifted up a competitor. Amazing. I knew I loved him when I met him last year, that was reinforced when I read his book and he just nailed it!
National Stroller Running Day
The other great thing this week was the launch of National Stroller Running Day. I’ve been working pretty hard on it this year. It’s got it’s own site, and I’m really hoping to see so many stroller runners! The first order of gear has been placed and will be here in early May so I can’t wait to get those into your hands. Another order will be placed in a week so there is PLENTY of time to get you, your running buddy and the rest of your family geared up. Shop now! I can’t wait to run with the families out in Los Angeles on May 31st at the Club MomMe Stroll ‘n’ Run.
Workouts and Running
Workouts have been freaking awesome this week too! I haven’t gotten a LOT of miles but the ones I have gotten in have been quality. I’m gearing up for the OC Half on May 3rd and I’m getting excited!
We have been trying desperately to get the kids set for summer with swimming. I had set MiniE up for lessons at the Y only to have the first class, last week be a complete flop. It’s so interesting to see how kids react in different scenarios. She LOVES to swim but doesn’t love the class structure of learning to do it. Then yesterday, she and E were assessed to determine which class to be in and she loved the one on on with the instructor, so did E. So I’m thinking I might do a semi-private session and have them both taught together. It’s a little more expensive but it will be invaluable to have them both taught at the same time.
This is just plain exciting. I had the chance last year to meet Andrea, who we all know as Kimmi Gibbler. She is so much more than that though. She’s an amazing runner, she loves the community of running and just an all around great girl. So when I heard that Netflix was going to give us Fuller House with most of the cast coming back, I squealed liked I was a 13 year old girl again. I loved that show and will DEFINITELY be watching it when it comes out.
