It’s that time of year..stroller running season! If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know I love stroller running. I love it so much I created a day just to honor all of us that go the extra distance to stay fit (#StrollerRun15 will be in May but that’s all I can say right now).
I’ve done a few stroller runs this season and wanted to give you a refresher of sorts to get you through your first or next run!
Kids needs don’t stop when you put them in the stroller. Depending on how long you’re going, be ready with snacks, drinks, entertainment to make their run more enjoyable read more tips here.
No earbuds. Music is ok but I recommend not using earphones or earbuds. You want to stay connect to your little ones even when you’re strolling. Read more safety tips here.
Stroller running technique is a thing and if you figure out what works for you, you will go longer with less effort. I can demonstrate my technique and it works when pushing a single or double. Check out the technique here.
Have the right gear
A good running stroller will make all the difference. A good running stroller will make you feel like all you have to do is steer it rather than pushing it the entire time and they are built for more weight so you can run with your running buddy for more years. Check out BOB here.
This is a great opportunity to show your kids how a healthy lifestyle looks and feels. End your run with a chance for them to run “with” you. It makes them feel like they are part of the team and they will be more likely to go out again! Check out kid and stroller friendly workouts here.
Take these tips, and get out and enjoy your run!
