It’s GO! St. Louis Race weekend is almost upon us and I couldn’t be more excited! Why am I so excited?
- Because that means there will be an expo to go browse around,
- There will be a buzz in the city that I just love,
- Because there’s a new course this year that I’m excited to experience,
- Because I’ll be running a local remix of sorts with the 5K on Saturday and the half on Sunday
- Because my kids are running their first races! MiniE will be running the Diaper Dash and E will be running 50 yard dash
Oh and there’s one more reason! Chipotle is a sponsor this year and I’ll be supporting them by racing for them!!! Not to mention devouring their super yummy food post race in the VIP tent.
We are a HUGE Chipotle family. I’m pretty sure my husband would eat there everyday if he could and with kids that love chicken and rice, Chipotle has options for my entire family.
Chipotle has an appreciation for living an active lifestyle, just as they have an appreciation for fueling up with food made from great ingredients.
To be perfectly honest, I was only half committed to this race for a long time. I’ve run it so many times in the past and I was getting pretty tired of the course. It was challenging and a little boring so when I saw they changed the course and that we would get to cross some bridges I got excited all over again.
This year will be epic because we will be busy with activities all weekend! I love the idea of getting my kids involved first hand, if they are in the mood come Saturday AM.
My Running Strategy
My plan for the weekend is to push through the 5K to see what kind of pace I can produce. I don’t think I can PR this race (26:10) but I’m definitely going to try. Then Sunday, I would love to try to keep a 9:45 pace so we’ll see how it all goes.
I think I’ve heard that ItLinz is also running as part of our little Chipotle team so I’m super excited to see my girl again! It’s been since last summer.
Are you racing this weekend? What do you love most about race weekend?
