Happy Belated Easter! What a weekend! The weather in St. Louis this weekend was IDEAL. I mean perfect which meant some amazing running Friday and Saturday. Being home last week was exactly what the doctor ordered on my training plan. I think I finished the week with 25 or so miles which is great for me. My short runs are getting long and feeling stronger. My intervals are getting faster and recovery between isn’t taking as long.
My runs this weekend were highly motivated by some new Mizuno gear that arrived this weekend. I was so excited to see a new pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 18s. I could go on and on about how solid this shoe is. I liked the 17s but I LOVE the 18s. What I didn’t expect to love was the other pair of shoes, The Mizuno Wave Prophecy 4. I use to dream about this shoe. I tried on the last version at Big River here in St. Louis and instantly wanted them. I would go online talking myself into clicking the “Add to Cart” button only to get scared.
We, as a family, also spent as much time as we could outside. One of my favorite ways to do that is to take our walk around the neighborhood then sit in the cul-de-sac and watch this:
Lots of sunshine does a body good right? Well, for MiniE that didn’t happen. Saturday night she struggled with sever stomach cramps that ultimately landed us in the ER. A call to the on-call nurse and an hour later poor miniE was getting x-rays, a catheter and I was mentally exhausted.
As a mom, you want so much to take all the pain away from your kids so when you can’t, it just takes it out of you. This was one of those days. We made it back home with a little one that was much more at ease by mid morning. Exhausted, we went right back to bed and slept right through church. There was just NO way.
She perked up in the afternoon enough to take a family walk and head over to see family.
The week ahead is another great week at home (no travel) and I couldn’t be more happy! So let’s end this post on a photo that is truly MARVELOUS to me!! My babies, sun and green grass! Hope you had a fabulous Easter!
How was your weekend? Did you get to dress up in your fancy Easter clothes?
