Mizuno Wave Enigma

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It’s crazy to think next weekend is Fourth of July.  Time is just moving too fast these days.  We had a fantastic week off last week.  The kids and I enjoyed just being together.  We even went to visit Scott at work one day.

What’s even crazier though is to think that next weekend I’ll be running the AJC Peachtree 10K in Atlanta with my Mizuno family.  I HAVE been training believe it or not but it’s been less about the miles and more about the environment.  Having the week off has been ideal because I’ve been able to run my miles in the middle of the day when the heat and humidity is the highest.  I’ve also been seeking out those hills that I usually avoid.  I keep hearing about Cardiac Hill and it doesn’t sound pleasant.

Motivating myself to train has been easy as a result of all the buzz around Mizuno’s newest shoe the Enigma.  The biggest feature of this shoe is the more responsive and more cushioned midsole.  It’s a great shoe for the mid to long runs (or short for that matter).  The only thing you need to pay attention to is the size of the toe box.  It’s a little tighter than some of the shoes in the Mizuno line up.

EnigmaThe true classification for this shoe is Neutral and it’s perfect to long runners (like I said). Here are some of the technical details:

  • New u-shape full-length parallel wave provides the Mizuno trademark responsive feel.
  • Combination of new u4icX and u4ic midsole foam provide cushioning.
  • Upgraded upper materials, including extra breathable mesh, provide a glove-like fit.

Personally, I do like this shoe.  It’s been a great addition to the rotation and I’ve been wearing them on runs about 4 to 8 miles.  I’m not sure if they will be my Peachtree shoes but they are in the running along with the Wave Riders and the Prophecy.  Hmm…decisions.

Check out the new Wave Enigma here and be sure to follow Mizuno Running on social media (and me) as we get ready to run next weekend!

I am loving my Enigmas!! I actually didn’t find them too small in the toebox, but I have felt that way about their other models!
