So I have a couple questions…How long have you been running? Do you always run the same route? I had the chance to run a route (park) I haven’t in YEARS. Just pulling in to park spurred a wave of nostalgia.
This route was where I learned to love running. It’s where I learned what I was capable of and what my weaknesses are.
It was while I ran this route that I made some really good decisions and some not-so good decisions.
It was on this route where I grieved, laughed, cried and learned more about myself than I ever thought I would learn.
I can’t count the number of hours I have spent here.
This route and these memories came before the blog, before the kids and before sweaty selfies.
I love my life now, I wouldn’t change it for anything but there’s something about reliving the past that makes you feel more alive. In the same way that smells trigger memories, routes have the same power.
Mizuno’s “Miles Change You” campaign couldn’t ring any more true. Miles DO change you and for that I’m grateful and routes remind.
