Hope you had a good fourth of July. I loved seeing all the celebratory pictures on Facebook and IG. I spent my weekend away from my family but with another kind of family…my Mizuno family running the largest 10K in the world. Yes, I can now mark this off my bucket list!
The race itself deserves a post of it’s own so let’s start with all the pre/post race festivities.
I flew in on Friday morning after a few delays, I touched down in Atlanta where a car service was there to pick me up. I got into Bucktown, which reminds me a lot of Clayton for all you St. Louis friends. It was fun to see a little Mizuno swag in my room. How fun is that backpack?!
After I freshened up a little, I met up with the other fantastic bloggers and we headed to the expo. This is the first year (of many) that Mizuno presented the event so they had the premium placement..right at the front. It was so cool to be welcomed by the bird.
That evening we went to Peachtree Diner with our fabulous hostess. The food was great but the company was fabulous. See anyone you recognize? Maybe you know Kristin, Sarah or Abby and that’s Emily our Mizuno contact.
Post race festivities were just as fantastic. Once the rain stopped, the girls and I did a little shopping. Imagine, no kids, and really no responsibilities..yeah it was fantastic. Then we were off to the Braves game where I may or may not have indulged in a little good food.
We were up and out the next day but not before getting a workout done. I really wanted to see the city on foot but my hip just wasn’t having it so I used the hotel gym to bust out 30 minutes of HIIT followed by some elliptical time.
Ok, so that’s just a glimpse of the fun. Atlanta is a fantastic town and everyone we ran into was so nice. I can’t wait to tell you about the race itself but let’s save that for another day.
In the meantime, go check out the Mizuno lineup.
How was your fourth? Did you race? Tell me something good!
