So freaking excited! I logged over 13 pain-free miles this weekend. It’s hard to believe we are less than two months away from Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis. Where has the year gone?!
I did a 5 mile run run on Friday and was pleasantly surprised when I didn’t feel tightness in my right hip till the last quarter mile. I thought I would get a good stretch session in but should’ve known better. The kids are very aware of when I go “wunning” and have been very eager to run too. On Friday they were even more eager since they got some new Asics kicks! E said they make him go “super fast”
Saturday we did a little workout at home and spent the day just cruising around. With no real plans to speak of, it was fun to just do whatever we wanted too.
Sunday I had thought about getting up early to get my run in but the hubby woke up early to make donuts so I took the opportunity to sleep in. I didn’t get up till 8:30!!! wahoo!! Then church, naps, grocery store, hubby to the gym and FINALLY I got to head out. I was super nervous and was afraid the hip would flare up so I took it nice and slow. We’re having unseasonably cool weather here and it made the run so delightful. I also tried Spotify’s pace playlist. You put in the pace you want to keep and they feed you music that will keep you going. It was pretty cool. The only thing is that I didn’t know any of the music. It was a lot of “club” music but if you don’t mind that, it’s pretty cool. I kept my run to 7 miles but felt I could’ve kept going.
It’s been a great weekend! Lot’s of running and tons of family time!! I’m super excited about this weekend. The kids don’t know it yet but we are taking a little road trip and they are going to be so excited!
Ohh…and don’t forget, on Friday’s post I have a giveaway for an adorable necklace! Register here.
Ok, so enough already…how was your weekend?
Ohhh a roadtrip? How fun. I can’t wait to hear where you’ve decided to go. Lucky kids 🙂
