I love these posts. I’ve seen Marcia do them a lot and I think it’s a great way to really get inside the minds of some of my favorite bloggers. In a world where we are always trying to be open and honest, these posts really let us just lay it all out there. I’m going to jump around a lot because that’s how my mind works.
The truth is…
I’m so FREAKING excited about running the New York Marathon. It’s been on my bucket list for a long time. Yes, I’m scared and nervous too but at the end of the day, I’m just going to embrace the entire experience and deal with the physical exhaustion later. (That’s what I do).
The truth is…
I’m having a little bit of baby fever. I’m watching my two grow up and knowing that E will be 5 and MiniE is quickly approaching 3, I’m starting to feel more independence but it’s not coming without another weird feeling. I can’t explain it. I miss the baby. I know, the rational side of me can give so many reasons why it just doesn’t make sense but there’s a maternal side of me that is starting to weigh in again and I’m not sure what to do. See baby E post here.
The truth is…
For some reason lately I’ve started drinking coppee (coffee but that’s how MiniE says it). It’s only in the AM and has to be Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla blend black. I have NEVER liked the taste of coffee but lately, I don’t know why but it’s starting to make it’s way into my day.
The truth is…
I’m gaining weight and I don’t know why. I’ve heard this could happen with Marathon training. I know Running Rachel experienced it too. I haven’t changed my diet at all. Weird.
The truth is…
I really want a new computer.
The truth is…
there is something else I was going to tell you but I forgot. 🙂
So now it’s your turn…what’s on your mind?
Truth is…you are human! Great post!
Thanks Luis!
Truth is I am NOT feeling prepared for the Chicago Marathon and wish there was some way to back out of it gracefully. It will be my 2nd marathon and I feel pressure to do as good this time as I did on my first, only I’ve battled my way through 3 sidelining injuries since Jan. As for the weight gain, maybe too much stress on the body? I went up and down with my first round of marathon training. I’d start to lose then I’d compensate and then gain. It was weird b/c I’m usually very steady.
I get it! If you don’t feel ready, be careful. It might be your body telling you something more. Good luck Heather!
I love this kind of post, I might have to steal the idea. New York Marathon is worth all the hype and excitement, trust me!
Also, I hate to self plug but I did write a post about how to avoid weight gain during marathon training if you’re looking for some advice.

Thanks Jen! I’ll definitely take a look!
I also experienced weight gain with marathon training. Maybe it is eating all the food? I am always hungry. I don’t know but I find the same thing!
haha! 🙂
Speaking of… we just posted this on I Love to Run this morning! https://ilovetorun.org/marathon-training-weight-gain-b-1555.html
It might help with one of your truths!

With my baby now in college and my younger one in HS, I sometimes wish I had another baby too. Then some days I am really glad I don’t!

Thanks Deborah. That helped. 😉
GIRL – baby #3 is a hot topic in our house. We go back and forth EVERY day about it so I feel your pain and aching ovaries.

It’s crazy. I guess the fact that I we feel like we’re not done should be enough to make us have the third but yikes!!
Yep, I felt the same way once we had our 2nd baby. I just had the feeling that I wasn’t done yet. I couldn’t get over it and I just knew we had to have a 3rd baby. Luckily my husband felt the same way. ha ha!
Anyway, it was the best decision ever. Baby #3 is now 2.5 years old and is beautiful, funny, and perfect in every way.
Not that I am suggesting you have another baby…!!
BTW, after the 3rd one, the desire went away – completely. I have no thoughts of a 4th!! 🙂
It’s so interesting – the talk of gaining weight during marathon training. I start to gain weight if I am NOT training for a marathon, but it all falls off during training. I am so curious about it all and will have to read the suggested articles.
Okay, this is a really long comment…

aaah!! Natalie, you’re killing me. I’m so on the fence!!
Girrrllll, let’s talk weight gain during marathon training. It happens to me every freaking cycle and it’s so annoying. I don’t over indulge, I eat good foods, but I STILL gain weight. My nutritionist said that some people’s bodies go into stress mode with training and just gain weight. He told me to buy new jeans or to stop running long….ummmm….what?! So frustrating!
that’s so crazy! I think that’s exactly what’s going on too!
