Oh man…first off, let me say…I DID IT!! 20 miles. Yes, it was tough but I’m so happy to say I did it. I’ll tell you more about the experience soon but the day didn’t end after the run (as much as I woul’ve loved to take a nap).
I got home, showered, ate some Chipotle (it really it the spot), packed up the kids and headed downtown to Union Station for the Peanuts Express.
The experience was pretty cool. I loved watching the kids explore the play area before the train ride itself. We arrived an hour before and needed every bit of that. Between decorating pumpkins, face painting, balloon animals, and singing and dancing, the kids just explored for ever. Then it was time to board the train.
We were on the Lucy car which was fabulous. We got to ride with Lucy the character. They read us a book, we watched the city go by and danced with Lucy. I was really shocked that MiniE wasn’t intimidated by Lucy. Both of them just loved it. I was really shocked at how much E knew about her. Needless to say, now they want to go see the new movie that comes out in November.
All in all, the experience was so worth it. The kids really enjoyed all of it. E enjoyed the train ride and going over bridges and being up high and MiniE really enjoyed the characters and the dancing.
Training for a marathon is no joke but being a parent requires so much more stamina. I wanted to just take a nap this afternoon but after watching their faces light up and enjoy the Pumpkin Express, I was happy that I pushed through the exhaustion. So rewarding!
So grab your tickets to the remaining rides before they sell out and go see the Peanuts Movie in November.
