One of the key attributes I love about Asics is that they don’t comprise quality in engineer a shoe for weight. Call me old fashioned but I LOVE a shoe with cushion, which is why the Nimbus is my shoe of choice. When Asics announced the newest addition to their line up, Asics MetaRun, I was curious. When you hear things like:
“Years of research…the MetaRun”
“MetaRun doesn’t just push the limits of performance, it shatters them. The future in responsive running is here.”
It peaked my interest.
Upon first glance, the colors are interesting, especially for a women’s shoe. Right or wrong, black is not normally a color that I’ve gone for. Admittedly, I’m backed away from a shoe if the color isn’t what I like. When this shoe arrived, I tried it on was surprised at how snug it was yet it didn’t feel cramped.
Felt like a slipper…very flexible upper from the get go. No toe crowding. It felt like a natural fit but I wasn’t sure about the cushioning that I love so much. The write up talked about”
“Adapting and contouring to your individual running style, MetaRun is built using the latest ASICS exclusive technologies providing you with the best and first ever running shoe with a responsive ride. Experience it to believe it.”
Even though I work with Asics, I felt like the write up could be a little over stated…until I ran in them.
My longest run to date in them is 6 miles but what I’ll say it’s a quality shoe. The upper is contouring, the ride is responsive and the shoe is everything it’s talked up to be.
Would I run a marathon in this shoe? Yes, yes I would. I plan to run my next half in them to really get the long run feel (sometime after the first of the year) and maybe take them on other adventures.
More to come from me but take a good look at this shoe. It’s in limited production right now. So check it out now!
Where would you take your MetaRun?
Great review. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe too!
I’ve been intrigued by them as I’m a Nimbus lover as well, but the price tag is a bit much!
