Less than two weeks till Christmas and it’s starting to feel like it. Stores are getting busier, work is getting slower, and I’m burning Pine and Jasmine candles all day every day. There’s nothing better than a home that smells of the season!
Aside from all that, the weekends have been busy but fun. The kids are constantly buzzing with talk of Christmas. It’s such a fun time to be a parent, although I will say, I wish we never started the “Elf on the Shelf” thing. Seriously, it’s the most annoying thing to try to remember to move him every night and come up with new places. I saw online that someone put their elf in a cast indicating that he had doctor’s orders to not move. GENIUS!
We made it to see Santa this past week. It was so cute to watch them interact and ask questions. E wanted to know where the reindeer were. Santa responded by telling him that they were eatting…beefing up for their big night.
We had some unseasonably warm weather around here so I’ve been making every attempt to get outside and run. I even got to change up the scenery some. I ran downtown and got to take a look at this building I’ve always wanted to see,. I have a fascination with old tired buildings. I could explore them all day.
Aside from the running, the kids and S and I just tried to keep it low key. We ended up watching HOME on Friday. It was kind of cute but hasn’t taken the top spot from Despicable Me 2. That is still the movie of the minute in this house. We also rounded up some new and old toys and jackets and dropped them off at the Crisis Nursery (one of my favorite local charities to help). The kids were eager to try to help other kids get excited about some new toys.
MiniE drained the milk while E was constructing major castles with the legos. I love watching him concentrate on creating and when he finishes, he gets so excited and proud of his work.
Well there you have it! Our little weekend in a few snapshots. Hopefully you had a great weekend and hopefully I can make your week a little better. In case you didn’t see Friday’s post, I’m giving away over $500 worth of fitness tech gear! Just so you stay close, the giving isn’t over yet! I’m cooking up something else (hint, hint).
How was your weekend? Are feeling festive this holiday season?
