First off, let me start by saying thank you for your support on my last post. I would bey lying if I said I didn’t cry a little reading your comments. Nothing gets me more than we can connect like that. I know this blog can be sporadic and the topics aren’t strictly running or strictly fitness but you get what you get when you click on one of my links. I try to be open and honest about life without getting us all down.
So let’s switch gears a little bit. It seems that the older you get the more you yearn for …time periods, moments or seconds that remind you of a simpler time. One of those things for me, as crazy as it might sound, is milk in glass bottles. We didn’t get it delivered to our door but we did, every week, go by the dairy, return our old bottles and get new milk.
At the time I didn’t appreciate the charm and taste that glass bottles have. Then I went off to college and life happened. For years I had a rhythm to grocery shopping which had me reaching into the refrigerator for our 3 gallons of milk without so much as checking the expiration date. Then one day I glanced down and saw them…glass bottles! The same way I remember them.
I bought a bottle and rushed home to have a glass of milk and it was just as good as I remember. Call it crazy, but it’s just better. Fresher. Crisper. Better.
Fast forward..Oberweis, the dairy responsible for my trip down memory lane reached out to me to see if I wanted to team up. Of course, I JUMPED at the chance.
My goal is to get you to think about Oberweis. Think about about glass bottled milk delivered fresh to your door every week and maybe, just maybe get you to click on this link –> LINK to see you can get milk delivered to you. (I’ll spare you some time…here are the areas that are capable of getting milk and other yummy goodies delivered to your door:
- Illinois: Chicagoland, Central Illinois, Southern Illinois
- Indiana: Greater Indianapolis area
- Michigan: Suburban Detroit area
- Missouri: St. Louis
- Virginia: Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads area
- Wisconsin: Milwaukee
Is it convenient?
Yes! very!
Is the milk really better?
I think so. I can’t beat their chocolate milk. I’m not even joking. Put it in a frosty mug and it’s practically a milk shake. So good!
Delivery charges apply but because you know me, you can get that deliver shrunk to $.99 per delivery. That’s awesome. All you need is the code: Easy4Mom and click here to get started –> Click here.
So if you’re in one of those areas, check out the link and if you’re not, watch your grocery store coolers. Hopefully you’ll see it coming your way soon!
Do you have any traditions that make you feel like a kid again? Did you ever have milk in glass bottles?
I remember as a child the milkman coming to our door and you’re right it tastes so much better in bottles. What I’d give for chocolate milk!
We are empty nesters now and I’m the only one that uses milk since my hubby doesn’t handle it well. I’ll check out the quantities to see if it would be worth it for me to order any. If not, I may have to stop by one of their locations and at least pick up a bottle of chocolate milk. Goodness in a bottle!!!

I love Oberweis milk and other products. You are right about their chocolate milk too! I didn’t realize I could get home delivery, I usually just buy it at Dierbergs.
Ooooo, thanks for sharing this. The way my kid blasts through chocolate milk…it might be worth it!
I miss Oberweis chocolate milk! I lived in Aurora, IL for two years. Since moving back to NJ, the only thing I can find that tastes similar is from Wawa. They are a convenience store that is dairy based out of Pennsylvania. It tastes similar, but no where compaired to Oberweis! Oberweis is thick like a milk shake and heavenly……… The closest it comes is to Virginia Beach which is still 7 hrs from me, and that is only home delivery. If I ever make it near a Oberweis, or near Chicago, I will stopping to get my glass bottle of chocolate milk. I believe that glass makes it taste better than plastic jugs. I also loved to go to the dairy store and get ice cream, which is also heavenly……
