Don’t you just love the mental image the term “Brain Dump” brings?
So this might be the way blog posts look for the near future. I still love doing it but I just hate the formality it’s had lately. Maybe it’s all the sponsored posts, maybe it’s just that I’ve been doing it too long and putting it on myself but I’m over it (again) and just want to get back to talking TO you.
I think maybe Instagram and SnapChat and all the other ways we talk to each other make me realize that blogging can be that way too. Just come by, say hi, read a couple quick thoughts and then be on your way. So..let’s talk running real quick.
I BOUGHT my first pair of Brooks ever last week. I have always wanted to try them and just felt like it was time. I’m not a professional athlete and one of the joys of running for me has always been trying all the latest and greatest shoes so I’m wearing the Adrenaline 14s right now and am really liking the cushioned ride. I bought them at True Runner and was so happy with my experience. I had originally bought the Ghost but they weren’t for me. I took them back and without question, they exchanged them. GREAT EXPERIENCE.
Did you watch the Olympic trials? There were so many people I was rooting for…Alysia, Kate Grace, Kara Goucher, you get the picture. There were so many amazing story lines and I just couldn’t turn away. I took it all in. Brooks did an amazing job at covering the event. Obviously Nike was all over it but I also loved seeing Oiselle get into the spot light. Now they are in a little bit of a ridiculous battle that is making the USOC look petty and childish. If you haven’t read about it, read it here.
I LOVE that community that running creates. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you do, or what you look like…when you meet another runner, your instantly connected. I’ve been in this leadership training at work and through it have met some other runners. We instantly started planning runches together and trying to pull others in too. I’ll get a run club started at work soon enough.
Running lately has meant a LOT of stroller pushing. MiniE has been a little shadow lately and I’m perfectly ok with it. If she asks, I can’t say no. She loves getting out and running some and it’s just an amazing, heart-melting feeling to be able to share it with her. It’s just another reason to love the sport. It’s SO easy to share. Not like volleyball or softball…which I also love. JUST RUN!
One last note…I wrote a post for B.O.B. that should be up on in their Fitness Center soon. Go check out the new, pretty strollers and read my post.
In the meantime stay connected to me on Twitter, SnapChat, and Instagram. You’ll get a sneak peak into how our crazy renovation is coming along.
