So I’ve been living among chaos for months now. The heavy lift is done on phase 1, thanks to Amato Homes. Now I’ve got to get the rest of the design right. Now keep in mind I’m doing things in phases because well…I don’t have a ton of cash laying around. My first order of business was this gigantic blank wall.
Before the reno, this wall held the TV and an assortment of pictures and things but without the tv there, I wanted to take a different approach.
I wanted to the wall to look a little more cohesive. I wanted the pictures to be similar in theme and color tone and I wanted them to mix well in the room. I started trying to come up with a design. I looked all over the place for pictures, prints, and art work that MIGHT go together but my eye just isn’t that good. It didn’t feel right. After a couple posts about the reno, Minted and I connected.
I’ve worked with Minted before on Christmas cards and LOVE them. I’ve used them for invitations and well just about everything so when they told me they had Art Styling services I was super excited. For $79, you give them the details about the space you’re trying to style (measurements, etc), the type of look you want and the pieces you may want to incorporate that you already own. Then they pull from their inventory and help you fill in the gaps.
I got two options of what the wall COULD look like to start and I chose one just based on overall color direction. Then after a couple iterations, we settled on a final design. This is NOT the final. I didn’t want to give it away too early. You’ll have to come back to the final reveal post to see it.
They even lay it out on the wall for you to help you visualize it. I love it. If you’re design challenged, it’s a great tool to be able to see it.
So at this point I’ve picked out some art, I’ve purchased some, I’ve collected some and they are just waiting on a final shipment and then I just need to do some hanging.
Isn’t this the coolest service? I can’t wait to show you the final product! What do you think so far?
