You know when something is just so awesome that you wake up the next morning feeling like it was all just a dream?
Yeah, the past 3 days feels like that. I told you I was going to New York to represent B.O.B. Gear at the New York City Marathon Expo. I’m going to attempt to replay it all for you but I know I’m not going to be able to recount it all. SO…let’s begin…
I flew out on Thursday and headed straight to the expo. I worked a little but mainly wandered around the expo recounting all the amazing memories from 2015. I bought some Sparkly Soul Headbands and Nuun because you can never have too much then it was time to go.
We stayed in a small flat in Brooklyn. Being from the midwest, I just can’t imagine living with my spouse in a space the size of a hotel room. I just can’t. But I guess if it means being able to live in NYC, than it’s worth it to some. For me, looking out my back door and seeing green grass and trees is just something I would miss.
We went to dinner Thursday night at this place that was waayy to swanky for me but the food was amazing!
The food was good, the wine was great and the company was awesome! We went back to the flat and headed to the roof to admire the view. I’m guessing they are paying to look at this every night. Amazing!
Friday meant heading back to the expo…by now I was feeling a little left out. I seriously was missing the anticipation of race day. It was crazy to be SO close to the most amazing race and know you’re not running it. I hung out with B.O.B. and handed out some of these ADORABLE kid race bibs we made special for the expo.
I mean really?! How cute are these? B.O.B. and I hosted a FaceBook live chat and talked about all things running. We even gave away a stroller and a Garmin 35. You can watch the chat here. After that I had a little extra time so I snuck over a couple booths to say hi to Bart Yasso. I think we’re all SUPER fans of Runners World Magazine so anytime I can say hi to their Chief Running Officer, I will!
After meeting a few more mother runners (and Dad runners), I snuck out to have lunch with the coolest group in the city (if I say so myself)! I’m not even going to tell you who they are…if you’re on social media at all, you will recognize almost everyone here!
By the time lunch was over, I had to race back to the expo and get ready to take off. LUCKILY, I timed it just right so I could run into Toni (RunningLovingLiving). She was on the crew from last year but was injured and didn’t get to run. She cheered us on and gave me one of the best hugs I’ve ever gotten. I was so happy to return the favor this year. So proud of her for finishing.
I headed home feeling exhilirated, renewed in my love for running and all things BOB stroller. I feel excited for what’s ahead. It’s amazing what 24 hours around amazing people will do for your spirit.
So do me a favor and thank B.O.B. for me by liking them on ANY social media channel you want. They are really just getting it ramped up so I’m sure they would appreciate it!
Also stay tuned! I’m headed to the doctor tomorrow to get the final verdict on my knee and I’ll be talking to you after that!
For now, I’m exhausted. Time for bed!
So happy to have seen this weekend and thanks!
Love this Katie!!!! Such a fun lunch!! The. BEST!!
