Hi Everyone!! Hope you had a good Christmas. We have been slowing down with our annual trip to Florida. I’ve been making this trek with my family well, since I was old enough to remember. And 37 years later, my brother, sisters and our families still get together with my mom and go! You can see some of our past memories here, here, and here .
This little island holds a LOT of memories for us. And actually, my phone literally died so I had no way of checking work email or meetings (talk about scary). I did have this MotoForce that Verizon gave me to try so I could still take pictures but otherwise, completely disconnected. 🙂
The weather has been great and I’ve been staying pretty active. You can check out my latest Ironman 70.3 update via YouTube here (don’t forget to subscribe).
So while I may not have been doing much swimming or biking, the running was decent this trip and the beach bootcamps were awesome. I’ve been helping my baby (27 years old) sister get ready for her wedding. She asked me to help her get in shape so we’ve been doing mini bootcamps that continued through our vacation. What made this even better was that the kids asked to get in on the action!
So for your reference and mine later, I’m giving you the list of exercise you can do at the beach. Mix and match them to make your own workout! All of these were kid approved and loved!!
So as for Ironman training, January will mean jumping back in full force. Focusing and visualizing every step of this journey. I’m basically going to repeat the last three weeks of training as another building phase. It it will be months of building time and distance. I’m really going to try hard to get up and get some workouts done in the morning (cross your fingers that I can make that happen).
With vacation over, I’m trying to get over a cold that’s been threatening all week but regardless, I do feel revitalized, refreshed and ready to tackle life (at least for a little while). Back to packing lunches, and constantly rushing around.
But I’ll say my sis-in-law wrote down some family goals while they were here and I think that’s a great idea so I’m hoping we can do some on the plane tomorrow. What would we, as a family, like to achieve? I’m thinking of a few but I’m really interested in hearing what the kids and husband are thinking too.
Ok, enough shop talk. You don’t think I would leave you without some pictures from our trip would you?!! Well, if you don’t follow me on Instagram yet (you totally should, do it B.), then you haven’t seen many of these.
How was your holiday? Did you take a break? Slow down at all?
