THE SKY IS FALLING!! No really. That’s what the weathermen were saying here all weekend. Stay indoors. ICE! LOTS OF ICE!
So our schedules are all off. School was cancelled. Games and practices were postponed. I didn’t even make many healthy meals this week. Ugh! Life!
Kids and Stuff
Work has been crazier than it normally is in January but that’s actually the way I want it. The only problem is that it leaves very little brain capacity for all the other stuff that has to get managed and done around the house. Our list of “To Dos” is growing and I’m ready for more home improvement (can’t believe I’m saying that). So I’m thinking of tackling the stairway and upstairs hall. I have dreams of board and batten walls, a new staircase and a new paint color, new carpet, oh and did I mention lighting and maybe a dutch door on our linen closet in the hall so we can have one centralized hamper. I have TONS of ideas and no time or money to do them. You can see all my ideas on my (For the home pinterest board)
We are also gearing up for a ski trip in a few weeks. I’ve been taking inventory of the kids snow gear and what a shock! They’ve grown out of most of what they had. WHY DO kids grow so fast?! I’ve been getting some REALLY good deals on Columbia site. Get $30 when you spend $125 now through 1/31 at Columbia.com! Redeem $30 reward between 2/14-3/12. Scott and I have been long time Columbia wearers and we feel confident that the kids will be warm and dry in their gear. I’ll show you some picks of their gear when it comes in! In the meantime, go shopping…treat yourself. There are TONS of good things in their sale!
As for Ironman 70.3 training. It’s going pretty well. The bike continues to be weak link. I’m having a hard time wrapping my brain around 50 miles. I can stomach 2 hours on the bike but three?! Mentally I have a LONG way to go. I feel weak there and it scares me. BUT I will say, oddly enough, I’m LOVING my time on the bike. I really do wish I could bike routes like we can run. Meaning I’m pretty scared to ride on roads and in groups so I guess that’s why the trainer feels pretty good.
Check out the video update here and wait long enough to hear the super big news!!
Do you want to see the details of the training plan? If you do, I’ll post it the next blog.
