This is the time of year where we are jam packed with activities. Kids have swimming, baseball and gymnastics. I’m obviously training for the ironman still and helping with my sisters wedding and Scott is busy getting the house into summer entertaining shape.
So why not cram in little relay race?! Great idea I thought. Well, I’ve always wanted to do it and this was the first year in a LOT of years we didn’t have anything planned. I didn’t take into account the fact that every other weekend was planned so a down weekend would’ve been nice. Oh well.
So now here I am, a few days away from packing up and heading home to Southern Illinois to do a race in my backyard.
You can read about it here.
Well since I last told you about this race, we’ve assigned our legs and I’m leg #1!
I’m super excited about this. I don’t even care about the descriptions. I’m excited to feel the race and vibes at the beginning and support the team throughout the race.
With 100% chance of rain, I’m going to plan to change clothes after each segment. So I’m going back to my Hood to Coast packing list to make sure I’ve got it all accounted for.
I’m planning to run it all at Half Marthon GRP or better depending on how I feel. By Saturday, I would’ve already logged 20 miles for the week so we’ll see. 🙂
This week also marks 1 month till the Ironman 70.3. YIKES!!!! Can’t even believe that. So wish me luck!
