Life (Lately) On The Run

August 25, 2017 3 Comments

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I finally feel like I’ve bounced back from post-ironman goal fatigue.  It took me FOREVER (almost two months) to really get back into any sort of rythm.  Luckily, I’m finally on the other side of the hill and not looking back!

A little while back I shared some of my upcoming races with you (and some race discounts so go check them out —> RACE DISCOUNTS). And while I’m excited about those races, I’m thinking about doing a few more.

I’ve added MoCowBell half to list.  A great race here in St. Louis on October 1st that is the perfect race to kick off the fall schedule.

But I also love the short distances…5Ks are so much fun.  And I’ve committed at work to run the St. Louis BizDash with some coworkers.  It’s a really fun event that allows companies to compete against each other.  I ran it last year for fun but this year we have a pretty talented team so we’re all setting goals…mine is a sub 25 time.

Normally I would try to create my training plan by myself but after the success I had with a coach for the Ironman, I decided to keep going with a coach and I’m glad I did.  Ryan, TriathlonDaddy, has done an awesome job at integrating all these goals plus my wants to keep weight training and cross training.  Is the training calendar busy?  Yep, but the variety is making it really doable!

And what’s best is that I’m actually seeing some gains in speed!  You can see it all on my Strava Page.  I’m super pumped! BUT that’s not it!  Watch this!!

Yeah! I’m so excited to share the news with you!  The LA Marathon has been on my list for a while and going out to run it with so many awesome people and challenge myself sounds like the perfect blend!

Want to run with me?  Get all the details here and register! Leading up to Stadium and Sea the ambassadors out there will be leading fun training runs and getting the community together in major ways! So make sure you’re following all the ambassadors to stay current.  I’ll share as often as I can too!

AND something that hits a little closer to home, I’m signing on to a two year role as an ambassador for Lululemon St. Louis!  I can’t tell you how excited I am about this relationship!  After a few months of dating (and yes, that’s what they call it) we have officially entered a relationship!

Lululemon Ambassador

What makes this relationship so cool is that it’s community based.  It’s a chance to reconnect with St. Louis runners and pull the community together!  Lululemon also invests in your personal development so I’m excited to embrace all the opportunities and turn it around and be an voice to the community.

What does the @LAmarathon and @Lululemon have in common? Check it out in this #YouTube Blog update! #WeRunSocial #MoreThanMiles

So that’s where I am right now.  Trying to stay (just slightly) ahead and do my best to be the best me I can be.  I’m so lucky (as we all are) that running is part of who we are!

Do you have some good news to share?

Thanks for the shout out! Little did you know I would have had you strength training whether you liked it or not with your run goals! 😉

Congrats on LA ambassador. Ran in 2014 with ASICS, great time! We’ll also be going into hydration strategy as I know going from Midwest training in the cold to warm CA on race day caused me issues!
