I’ve been laid up in bed for the past 24 hours recovering from laproscopic surgery to remove a giant cyst. It’s given me a lot of time to watch the new season of Fuller House but also to think about how lucky I am. Indulge me if you will…
You’ve heard it said a thousand times
It takes a village
It’s a cute way of saying we are all in this together. That we can’t make it through life without each other and I’m realizing how true that is right now.
With two young kids that need so much attention, I’m grateful to have a partner like Scott to help play Mr. Mom and Mr. Dad. Today was picture day and he got them both dressed and ready. How cute are they?!
Knowing I wouldn’t be doing much cooking, my MOB (Mom of boys) sent us some giftcards to our favorite places to help bridge the gap. This group of women have come into my life somewhat unexpectedly but I wouldn’t want to take this trip without them. Who knew that when we picked a school we were picking a community? That I would be finding some of the most amazing people that care about us and our kids so much? Not to mention they are just a lot of fun!!
As I sit here in this big house all alone, I’m not alone. I’m surrounded by all of you with your tweets, IG messages and Facebook get well notes. Your support and genuine care has not gone on deaf ears. I truly appreciate all of it.
It takes a village is an understatement. It takes communities and lots of them. We are all members of so many communities because they provide us with very different types of support in our lives. I know it can be overwhelming at times, but when the time is right, the community comes back to help and pays dividends way bigger than ever expected.
