So remember when I introduced you to Stonyfield Organics (the brand you’ve known for 30 years) and Amy Rodriguez (the super amazing USA soccer player and mom)? She and I had a chance to talk on the phone about kids nutrition and the challenge that is getting healthy, feel-good foods into their little bodies.
Well, Amy and I talked specifically about my challenge…SNACKING. My kids (4 and 7) pretty much snack all day and they are constantly trying to reach for something with way to much sugar and no nutritional value.
So I asked Amy some questions about how she does it:
How do you get your kids to try new flavors of Stonyfield?
Stonyfield is one of those brands that tastes great no matter the flavor, so I find it super easy to get my kids to try the different flavors. The Stonyfield YoKids Strawberry Banana is definitely a favorite in our house. If you’ve got a picky eater on your hands, sometimes it helps to “dress up” snacks by creating fun-looking foods for the kids. For examples, check out some of my fun holiday snacks, which can be found at Stonyfield.com/recipes.
Do you ever mix Stonyfield into a smoothie?
All the time. Smoothies are a great way to eat healthy on the go. We usually mix Stonyfield Greek Yogurt or Stonyfield YoKids with spinach, frozen berries (strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries), and a splash of apple juice. Its quick, easy, and healthy!
What are your favorite combinations?
One of my favorite post-workout smoothies is made with Stonyfield Vanilla yogurt, sliced banana, a spoonful of peanut butter, and some ice cubes. Easy-peasy way to get a protein packed snack after a hard training session.
Weren’t her answers yummy? Well, I’m here to say that I’ve tried these ideas on my kids and E is now a firm believer in the smoothie. He’s so soccer obsessed these days that he wants every advantage he can get and Stonyfield Organics provides the protein that keeps hims strong!
