A couple weeks ago my 7 year old son (E, the original running buddy) says to me on the way to school…
“Mom, the people that bought our house are so lucky.”
Fearing his answer I took the bait…
“Why E?”
He replies…”Because they don’t have to go through all this pain”
CRUSHED. I was crushed. If we would have known last September that this is the situation we would be in we would’ve never sold our home.
So Scott and I got to talking and knew we needed to just get away for spring break. We started with talk of Kansas City. A quick road trip sounded like fun but then I started to add it up and realized we could get away further for less by using some points. So that’s what we did…we ran away….all the way to south Florida.

Spring break 2018
You can check out some pictures from our trip on Instagram. I’ll spare you the details. I’m sure you can figure it out through the pictures. The time away was good for the soul. The weather was warm, the miles were fun and the kids enjoyed every simple pleasure they could.
I even toyed around with iMovie on my phone on the way home and put this together. I wish I could figure out the music feature on it.
I know we’ll get through this and someday (hopefully soon) we will have a home but the honest truth it’s tough and with every bump and there have been quite a few, it gets tougher but we’re determined to stay optimistic and I’m a believer in things happening for a reason…just wish I knew what it was.
I’m headed to LA for the LA Marathon in a couple days so stick with me on another adventure! Can’t decide if I’m going to attempt it yet or not but we’ll see.
Great idea to get a way and extrovert from the day-to-day routines, it looks like you had a wonderful time. I’ll be taking a page from your book very soon for some well deserved R ‘n R.
