Rottler provided service in kind for the post but all opinions are my own.
I know what you’re thinking…this is WAY out of the realm of this blog let me tie it together for you.
I’m a healthy living blogger that until a week ago was homeless (read the story).
Becoming a home owner again has been a 5 month ordeal that has me feeling fortunate and grateful to be able to worry about things like plumbing leaks and ants in the tub.
SHORT STORY: If you’re in St. Louis and you aren’t dating a pest control company (or even if you are) Click HERE and give Rottler a try. I promise you won’t regret it!

Now, here’s our experience with Rottler
Yes, I found that out the hard way. Well, not actually me but my kids. 🙂 They wanted to take a bath in the big tub so filled it up only to find the little critters swimming out of the jets. YUCK!
So I called Rottler Pest Control and they came right out.
What I experienced was not consistent with what I was expecting (in a good way!). In the past, we’ve had quarterly pest control done and basically they came in and sprayed an unknown chemical around the interior and exterior perimeter of my house. I never quite understood it but as a homeowner, you know the last thing you want are unwanted things living in your home.
I opted for the Signature Plus package. This package includes:
- A thorough inspection of your home’s structure, noting visible pest activity and conducive conditions.
- A copy of the inspection report & service specifications will be provided to you
- A perimeter treatment to the exterior of the structure as well as a full interior treatment to gain control of any existing pest problems.
When Brent came out (everyone wave at Brent)…he was unbelievable as bug guys go. Very personable and only told me as much as I wanted to know about what he was doing. I followed him around (that’s not creepy right?). It was interesting to see how he worked. He’s like a bug detective not just spraying the bugs he sees but also treating the root cause. GENIUS.
He also explained to that the bug sprays at the box stores are not effective because it’s basically a deterrent that might keep bugs from entering at the spot you spray but it won’t reduce the risk because bugs will just look for another way in…fascinating.
He showed me where the ants were getting into my house at and eventually into my tub and he treated that area more heavily but also the full perimeter.
I also had him spray for mosquitoes. Now that we have a lawn, I fully expect to be out there all the time and I don’t want to be worried about whether or not we sprayed the kids down.
When Brent left he gave me his cell number (as he does with all his customers and all the technicians do) and told me that if it there were every any questions or we saw issues between services to call or text him immediately and he could come and correct it…free of charge! He even told me I could text him pictures of bugs if I wasn’t sure what I was dealing with.
UM..what?! That’s service.
So it’s been a few days since Brent was here now and I have to say, he’s followed up with me via text and asked about the ant problem. We discussed it and he’s coming back on Friday to ensure it’s corrected the right way!
SERVICE!
At this point I feel pretty comfortable that I “know a guy” in the bug business and for all my St. Louis friends, let this be my personal recommendation to give these guys a call if you have ANY issues. Yes, we collaborated on this post but I’ve been a customer in the past and will be for a long time in this new house because I hate spiders and ants and because they are GOOD at what they do and how they do it.
I would only ask that you use this link and let them know I sent you >> www.rottler.com/mommy
When you use this link, you’ll also get $35 off your initial inspection and initial service. I’m telling you to do it. Why because peace of mind is a beautiful (and bug free)thing!
You can say that ” Rottler” really knows what he do. Nice post! Hope this inspires other who read your blog!
