Isn’t it funny where your mind goes when you run music free? Tonight, after struggling on the treadmill yesterday, I knew I had to get outside and the only way it was going to get done was to do a point to point run.
After work, the family packed up and headed to the gym. Scott stayed there and worked out, the kids went to the kids club and I turned right back around and headed home. I love doing this because we both get our workouts done at the same time.
Anyway, as I was running I was just thinking about the passion I have for all things endurance and how good it feels to have something to get that fired up about. You know feeling all warm and fuzzy with love for the sports and the people that do it.
As I was pushing up the hill, hating the humidity of St. Louis in the summer, I thought about how much the humility of a run is a weird thing to like but turn it around and the feeling you get when it’s done is about as good as it gets! Same thing with the success of a great ride, and the enjoyment out of watching the pros show us how it’s done.
It’s pretty incredible to realize that only in these arenas can you enter a race and toe the line with the same people that will participate in the Olympics?
It’s also incredible to me that we’ve all found a platform to share our passion. Social media has brought us together. Through these channels we get to share our wins, mourn our losses and support each other through it all. Again…pretty incredible.
Then add to it the occasional opportunity to do some extraordinary things with some of the brands that get us to the finish line and beyond and my passion turns into gratitude pretty darn quickly.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing brands and lately it’s been insane. I’ve told you about working with Big River Running (the BEST running store in St. Louis), Gatorade Endurance and Lululemon. I mean if I stopped right there, I would be BEYOND happy but I’m not stopping there. Rudy Project has recently approached me and I’m excited to say I’ve signed on to:
Team Rudy Project
What does that mean? It means, I’ll continue to race in their helmets (it’s what I’ve done all my tri’s in over the past year and a half) but I’ll also be checking out some of their glasses. OH AND I have a great opportunity for you to check out their gear at a great discount that only I HAVE. This isn’t a joke…I swear. All you have to do is find me on social media or send me a message through here and I’ll share it with you.
All of this warm and fuzzy today felt great today. The warmth, maybe not so much, I mean it was 95 degrees today but whatever. Either way, I just wanted to pop in and yell from the hills how much I’m still in love with endurance sports!
I’m a fan!
