2021 is here How are you feeling?
We’re just surving over here. I don’t know about you but January is usually my almost least favorite month. The only one I despise more is February. Here in the midwest, our weather is gloomy, cold, and dark this time of year; add to it this pandemic and we’re literally just putting our heads down and grinding it out.
The combination of knowing we’re going to be home so much and the craving for something more got me thinking that it’s about time to have a goal again. I talked to Scott and he got behind it so for the next 23 weeks I’ll be training for my second 70.3.

This time we’re going to Benton Harbor Michigan in June for Steelhead and I couldn’t be more excited. I have been wanting to go to Michigan for the summer since we were kids.
Most of my training will be done from the basement. I’m a scaredy cat when it comes to biking on the road and with it being cold, I’m perfectly comfortable whimping out and staying inside. I’m also secretly hoping that I can run my 8 year old treadmill into the ground so I can buy a new one. 🙂
I’m officially in training now. We’re 24 weeks out. I felt like I wanted time to ramp up over time and try to avoid injury. I hired Ryan again, my coach from the first time and am excited to be training again.

There’s just something about knowing that these workouts mean more than 45 minutes of running or whatever it is…it means better endurance, more strength, and hopefully a sense of accomplishment that you can’t experiencing without putting in the time and discomfort.
You know I’ll share my training here. The good the bad and the ugly. So stay tuned!
Are you training for anything right now?
